Thank You – Aces Football from Coach John Edge

This letter appeared in today's community section of the Messenger-Inquirer.

I would like to take this opportunity to express our thanks to the Owensboro Catholic fans for their tremendous support during this past football season, and in particular during our run to the Class 2A state championship game. Our fans outnumbered our opponent’s fans 2 to 1 and sometimes 3 to 1 in the last 3 playoff games. The players and coaches really appreciated the support of the citizens of Owensboro/Daviess County community. May God bless all of you during the Christmas season.

Bishop Medley’s Visit to Elementary K-3 Campus

Bishop Medley visited the OCS Elementary K-3 Campus during their Christmas program. As a gift to the bishop a special song was written by music teacher, Heather Hayden, and sung by the student body.

Lyrics:

Bishop Medley's here today we're glad to say.
Our song is our gift to you, we'll sing it our way.
We'll clap our hands x x x and stomp our feet x x x To show you that we think you're neat!
But that is not all we have for you today.
We ask for god to bless you and so we pray:

(spoken) Dear God, please smile down upon our bishop.
Bless him with wisdom this day
and help him to know of our love. Amen

(sing) may God bless and keep you.
May God's face shine on you.
May God be kind to you and give you peace.

OCHS Exam Information - Wednesday, Thursday and Friday

As most of you know, there is another storm heading this way tomorrow and Thursday. After meeting with staff, and laying out a variety of scenarios, it was decided to leave the exam schedule as is, 2 a day.

If we miss any days this week, we will come back to whatever exams were supposed to take, even if that means taking exams in January. I know this is not an ideal situation, but there are too many unknowns at this point to try and do a different schedule. We felt it would be too confusing to lay out “if this happens, then this, but if something else happens, then we would do this…”

I appreciate all your flexibility during this time, and we will push forward and make the best of a less than ideal situation.

Emails to Roadrunner Accounts

We have contacted the email service we use about those with Roadrunner service not receiving emails. Right now the email service is currently experiencing deliverability issues with Roadrunner. They are sending mail to them, but they are deferring it. At this time, there is no set time frame for when we expect this to be resolved. This issue has the full attention of the Email Service Operations team and it is aggressively being worked.

This only affects the emails for In the Loop and the school site announcements.

Any school announcements and In the Loop are posted to the news section of the OCS website. I would suggest for those with Roadrunner email service until the issue is resolved with the email service and roadrunner to check the News section of the OCS website since all information from the emails are included. Here's the link: http://owensborocatholic.org/news/

Also the news is posted on the OCS iPhone app under 'news' as well.
