OCMS PTO Meeting - Ray Roth, Guest Speaker


Ray Roth will speak on adolescence, what to expect developmentally and how to handle issues that arise from this stage of growth. The PTO meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, February 24th, 7 pm.


A brief biography of Mr. Roth:

Ray Roth has been in education for more than 20 years, serving as a school psychologist, a behavioral specialist, an alternative high school director, and currently as an elementary school assistant principal. He is a college instructor in psychology and focuses on developmental issues of children and adolescents and has provided trainings to parents and teachers in districts across the state and nationally in his work as a consultant with the organization Safe and Civil Schools. He has specialized in working with children and youth who are troubled and have behaviors that trouble others. Such behaviors include bullying, aggressive and angry youth, and connecting with disconnected teens. He has also provided CHAMPs, A Proactive and Positive Approach to Classroom Management, training to our Diocesan Catholic school teachers in the past. He comes highly recommended by our superintendent, Mr. Jim Mattingly.

Those students who has a parent attend the PTO meeting will receive a jean day on Thursday, February 26. Wednesday is Ash Wednesday and we would ike for the students to be in uniform for mass.
