Seminar Topic
Lindamood-Bell Learning Processes has pioneered the research and development of programs that help children and adults learn to read, spell, and understand language. Language and literacy are cognitive acts, therefore, language and literacy instruction needs to be based on a theory of cognition in order for students to learn to their potential. This presentation will explain the Dual Coding Theory, a theory of cognition, and describe the underlying sensory-cognitive processes that affect reading, spelling, comprehension, and critical thinking.
