OCMS Places 1st in District Governor's Cup Competition
Congratulations to the Owensboro Catholic Middle School Aces academic team on their first place win in District 12 Governor's Cup competition held on Monday and Tuesday, January 24 and 25, 2011.
The OCMS quick recall team won 1st place competing against Ohio County Middle school and twice against McLean County Middle school. Quick Recall team members are Adney Rakotoniaina, Evan Christodoulou, Jack Padgett, Leslie Kuntz, Logan Brown, Lucy Kurtz, Madeline Rafferty, Matthew Caldwell, Meredith Bickett, and Sam Booth.
Individual honors go to the following students who placed in the top 5 in written assessment testing:
Hannah Hagan - 1st place Mathematics, 1st place Language Arts
Meredith Bickett - 1st place Arts and Humanities, 1st place Social Studies
Audrey Wright - 1st place Science, 3rd place Arts and Humanities
Lucy Kurtz - 2nd place Arts and Humanities, 3rd place Language Arts
Sam Booth - 2nd place Science, 5th place Mathematics
Madeline Rafferty - 3rd place Composition, 4th place Social Studies
Leslie Kuntz - 2nd place Language Arts
Jacob Payne - 2nd place Social Studies
Laurine Scott - 2nd place Composition
All individual winners and the entire quick recall team advance to Regional Governor's Cup competition on Saturday, February 5, in Sebree, Kentucky.
The Aces academic team is coached by Margie Ebelhar and Julie Renshaw.
