Director’s Corner - OCS Receives 'Innovation in Education' Award

Each year the Today’s Catholic Teacher magazine awards 12 Catholic Schools for Tomorrow Awards. Through the magazine they request that Catholic schools submit nomination materials for awards showing innovations in the following categories:
• Marketing Your Catholic Schools

• Restructuring or Merging Schools

• Promoting Catholic Identity

• Curriculum and Instruction

• Technology Integration

• Total Community Involvement
Through the efforts of the OCS Central Office, nomination materials were gathered and submitted for the areas of Marketing Your Catholic Schools and Restructuring or Merging Schools.

In a letter dated, January 6, 2011, we were informed that Owensboro Catholic Schools had been selected as one of the 12 recipients of the 2010-2011 Catholic Schools for Tomorrow Award from Today’s Catholic Teacher. Our award was made due to our efforts in the area of Innovative Projects in Marketing Owensboro Catholic Schools. The award will be presented at a banquet on the evening of Wednesday, April 27th at Broussard’s Restaurant in New Orleans, LA during the National Catholic Education Conference. Please join me in saying congratulations and a “job well done” to Keith Osborne and Karen Gross for this incredible and well deserved national recognition.
