Meet Gates Settle - OCHS Principal

Gates E. Settle is a graduate of Mclean County High School and Western Kentucky University where he received his Bachelor of Science, Master of Education and Rank I degrees.

His career in education started in McLean County at Livermore School and then on to McLean County High School where he taught Social Studies, Health/Physical Education and coached several sports.

After a two year stint at Burns Middle School, he came back to McLean County to be the Head Basketball Coach. He was later promoted to assistant principal at MCHS and served in that role for three years and was then hired for the same position at Daviess County High School. In the spring of 2000, Mr. Settle was chosen as the principal of Daviess County Middle School where he spent eleven years until his selection as the principal of Owensboro Catholic High School.

Mr. Settle has been married for 23 years to the former Angela Hardison of Livermore and they have two boys, Isaac 14, and Ethan 9.

They are members of Immaculate parish.
