Western Kentucky Botanical Garden – 11th Annual Scarecrow Festival – ‘It’s All About Bluegrass: A Celebration of Bill Monroe’

 Saturday, September 17, 2011 from 9 am – 1 pm

 
At the Garden at 25 Carter Road, adjacent to Thompson Berry Soccer Field

 
Fun, Games and Craft Activities, Food and Live Bluegrass Music

 
Kids Fun Run – for those through grade 8

 
  • Kindergarten and younger – Skip, Hop and Jump
  • 1st and 2nd graders – Sack Race
  • 3rd and 4th graders – 50 yard dash
  • 5th and 6th graders- 1/3 mile run
  • 7th and 8th graders – 1-mile run
Email your name/school/age/grade to wkbg@bellsouth.net  by Friday, September 16
 
Families, community groups, businesses and individuals – create a ‘Bluegrass Scarecrow’ to exhibit and compete for cash awards! The scarecrow must be registered and placed in The Garden by Friday, September 16. Prizes will be awarded at the Festival on Saturday, September 17.
 
Email your name of group, phone number, contact person, email address, requested set up time and date, scarecrow name and story to wkbg@bellsouth.net
