American Red Cross – Do you know a Hero?

Honor them and tell others about how they impacted your life. We are searching for everyday heroes who go above and beyond the call of duty. We will honor heroes during the American Red Cross 2012 Heroes Campaign.

Nominations are being sought for 2012 Heroes Awards and entries are being accepted for the 2012 Heroes Essay Contest. Please share this information with students, staff, or anyone who could be interested. Thank you for your support of the American Red Cross and the families we serve.

Heroes Nominations
Heroes make the world a better place. They touch and save lives when help is needed most. They’re your family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers. Help the Red Cross identify and honor these everyday heroes by submitting a Heroes nomination today in one of 12 categories (Medical, Group, Adult Rescue, Role Model, Educator, Youth, Law Enforcement, Firefighter, Volunteer, Military and more). Help the Red Cross discover the Heroes living undercover in our community. Nominations are due by Friday, February 10, 2012. Heroes Essay Contest
In 500 words or less, students grades Kindergarten through 12th grade, can submit an essay about who their Hero is or what heroism means to them. Winners will be selected by an independent panel in one of four categories (K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12) and recognized at the Heroes award banquet on April 19, 2012 at the Casino Aztar Conference Center. Each winner will receive a scholarship or savings bond of $500. Essay entries are due by Friday, February 10, 2012.
