OCMS Academic Team Governor's Cup District Title

Congratulations to the OCMS Academic Aces.  They walked away from the 12th District Governor's Cup Competition as the over-all winners.  The quick recall team dominated and after 3 matches became the champions.  The following students participated in quick recall: Jack Boarman, Matthew Caldwell, Daniel Jacobs, Lucy Kurtz, Iona Palmer, Molly Payne, Isaac Settle, and Tricia Thompson.

The quick recall team and students that placed in the top 5 in the written assessment tests will advance to the February 4, 2012, Regional Competition in Union County.  The following students advance in their subject areas of expertise.

Matthew Caldwell - Math - 5th place
Iona Palmer - Arts & Humanities - tied 4th place
Jack Boarman - Social Studies - 4th place
Caroline Hayden - Composition - 1st place
Isaac Settle - Social Studies - 1st place
Lucy Kurtz - Arts & Humanities - 1st place and Language Arts - 2nd place
Tricia Thompson - Science - 1st place and Language Arts - 1st place

The team appreciates the support they receive  from faculty and parents.  Mrs. Jennifer Schultz scored Composition and Mr. Bart Rhodes moderated quick recall matches.  Mrs. Molly Thompson and Mrs. Cindy Caldwell served as proctors.
