Haley Ingram, OCHS Golfer, to Attend Training Program in Hilton Head

Haley Ingram, 16 and an OCHS junior, of the First Tee of Owensboro has been selected among 50 nationwide to attend the Hank Haney International Junior Golf Academy Training Program in Hilton Head Island, SC in June 2012. She is an Ace Level participant of The First Tee of Owensboro and has been a member since 2004. She is also an honor student at Owensboro Catholic High School where she has played on the Lady Aces Golf Team since the 5th grade. She was selected based upon her application, which included golf ability, an essay, academics, community service, and personal recommendations.

Each year, the National First Tee organization selects up to 50 participants to attend the academy in Hilton Head Island, SC to receive instruction on all aspects of the golf game from IJGA instructors. Mental training, fitness training and college placement sessions are also included along with The First Tee Life Skills curriculum.

She earned the Hank Haney IJGA scholarship of $1000 towards to the cost of program.
