Free Self Defense for Women and Girls Classes Available
Owensboro Catholic High School and Scott Ingram from the Daviess County Sheriff's Department will be offering "Street-wise Self Defense for Women and Girls" at OCHS every Thursday, at 5:30, beginning May 14, in the OCHS small gym. This free program will last one and a half to two hours and will run for four consecutive Thursday evenings. It is basically a self-defense, awareness, rape-prevention program for women and girls 13 and older and involves hands-on physical activity. Bring a jump rope.
Though individuals are welcome and encouraged to attend by themselves, mothers are especially invited to attend with their daughters. Call the OCHS school office (684-3215) to register by May 12. Please leave your name(s), age, phone, and email address of those attending.
